If you are visiting Metz, you must visit this 13th-15th century medieval
square. The vaulted gallery and arches are spectacular and wandering among
them take you back to past times. The alignment of the buildings surrounding
the square corresponds to the original Roman ramparts which were used for
the actual foundations. During medieval times, Place Saint Louis used to
accomodate more than 60 changers under the arcades and also trade fairs
and religious theatre plays. |
