Tourism In Moselle
Moselle is part of the région of Lorraine and is surrounded by the French departments of Meurthe-et-Moselle and Bas-Rhin, as well as the countries of Germany and Luxembourg. In French, the inhabitants of the département are called Mosellans. The population has remained relatively stable since World War II and now exceeds 1 million, located mostly in the urban area around Metz and along the Moselle River.

Metz is the capital both of Moselle and Lorraine and is the cultural and historic centre of the region. Due to its position, Metz has been heavily fought over, passing from Germany in 1870 back to France in 1918.

There is a huge wealth of treasures to uncover in Moselle. Beautiful, unspoiled, countryside full of golf courses, cycle tracks and footpaths. Water sports lovers can find much entertainment on one of the many canals, lakes or water sports centres. And for the historians, Gothic churches, medieval buildings and Roman remains will keep you busy for a long time.
